Copper has been worn against the skin for thousands of years, across nearly every culture — Egypt, India, the old world and the new. That tradition didn't survive this long by accident.

I'd genuinely encourage you to read up on it yourself rather than take a jewelry maker's word for it.

But here's the part I can say with complete confidence: solid pure copper worn on bare skin is a different thing entirely from a plated bracelet off a discount site.

Purity matters. Skin contact matters. Wearing it consistently matters. Most people who "tried copper and felt nothing" tried plated copper — and that's not copper at all.

You can — water won't harm solid copper the way it ruins plated jewelry.

What it will do is speed up the natural darkening. Long soaks, pool chlorine and strong soaps all push the patina along faster than everyday wear does.

My advice: live your life with it on and don't fuss over it — but slip it off before a swim or a long bath.

Forgot it once? No harm done. Dry it well and carry on.
